Hannah Hsieh is a Taiwanese dulcimer performer, songwriter and an award-winning film composer.
She majored in music production and graduated at AAU in San Francisco, CA., and is especially focusing on film scoring, commercials, and music composition. Also, holds a previous Bachelor of Music degree major in Dulcimer Performance from Taiwan Chinese Culture University. Her music compositions have been selected and won in many international film festivals and composition competitions including the “Hsinchu City Youth Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan”, "Global Music Awards", “Palm Beach International Music Awards”,"Munich Music Video Awards", "American Tracks Music Awards", the"Tagore International Film Festival", the "American Golden Picture International Film Festival", "Milano Mobile Film Festival", "Los Angeles CineFest", "Buenos Aires International Film Festival", "Shortie Film Festival", "European Cinefest Golden Nika", "The Oniros Film Awards® Italy", "Screen Power Film Festival London" and etc.. She also played many times with Baochun Li's Peking Opera Neo-Classics Orchestra as a dulcimer and keyboard performer, and also went on tour to many cities all over China during 2009-2014. She started to play the piano at 5 years old, and began studying the dulcimer and playing it with a variety of orchestras when she was 10 years old. Moreover, she uses the dulcimer in different musical styles and features the instrument in her own musical compositions. Her rare musical performance as a dulcimer performer for arranging Western pop songs with dulcimer has caused more people to know including commercial, academia, broadcast media and major events, receiving critical acclaim San Francisco Bay area. |
